THE
PINK SALOON
by Deanna Bonn
There's
a new styleslinger on Main Street. The Pink Saloon,
the first tenant located in the old "Farm 'n' Home"
building, now named "Merchants at District 142", offers
fun and funky fashion with flair.
"I
had always thought that if I were to be downtown, this is the
exact corner I wanted to be on," owner Brooke Greene said,
"so when the doors opened, I think it was the Lord's blessing."
Brooke
began designing jewelry and then belts about seven years ago and,
during the past year, had a boutique located in Robin's,
where she added purses to her line of accessories.
It
was while working for Wrangler that she began to get an
idea about what she thought the end consumer really wanted from
the shopping experience. "In my mind I developed what I thought
would be new and fresh, yet stand the test of time, giving longevity
to the business, but I definitely have a vision beyond this."
she stated.
The
Pink Saloon has a young look and there are a lot of young
things, but it's not all low-rise jeans and tank tops. In addition
to gifts and accessories, Brooke carries men's jeans and will
soon have a men's product line. And with the holiday season approaching,
gift cards that can be used like credit cards make a perfect gift.
The
Pink Saloon's hours of operation are M-F 10:00A-5:00P and
10:00A-6:00P on Saturday, so be sure to stop in and visit Main
Street's newest resident, soon.
